We Conclude Our Spring Travel Show Series And Gear Up For Summer
I want to extend a special note of appreciation to NYSTIA team members Nate Gresock and Brooke Wilson, who hit the road to showcase New York's diverse destinations in Canada and New England after a long week helping make the 2025 New York State Tourism Conference in Canandaigua a great success.
Nate Gresock loaded up the van and journeyed north to Ottawa, CA for the Ottawa Outdoor + Adventure Travel Show at the Nepean Sportsplex. The Tourism Champions booth enjoyed a premium corner location at the front of the show. Nate experienced a lot of traffic from attendees, who indicated continued interest in visiting New York despite unfavorable currency exchange rates and heightened concerns about border crossing. "Our presence and visibility at the show seemed to reassure attendees that Canadian travelers are always welcome in New York." remarked Nate. "Our conversations conveyed our care and concern for our neighbors to the north."
Brooke Wilson drove a second van to Springfield, MA the Dream Destinations Travel Show at the MGM Resorts Event Center. "New England travelers seem open to extended road trips to explore New York's unique destinations and cultural attractions." observed Brooke. "They really took to the concept of a 'land cruise' across New York."
Next up: We'll be setting up our seasonal (May 5 through October 31) Tourism Champions exhibit booth at Port Byron Old Erie Canal Heritage Park and preparing for the 2025 New York State Fair (August 20 through September 1).
Consumer travel shows are valuable opportunities to meet travel intenders, answer their questions about New York State destinations, and share possible itinerary ideas. With this in mind, we’re inviting NYSTIA members to join us in the Tourism Champions Booth at travel shows throughout the year. We generally have at least two exhibitor passes available per day per show. Join us for a day—or the whole event!
