Welcome to the new and improved website for the New York State Tourism Industry Association!
The new site provides numerous improvements in user functionality, content management, accessibility, and more. It represents a major investment in time and resources to better prepare NYSTIA to serve its members in the future. Below you’ll find a detailed introduction from Rachele Markle who spearheaded the project for NYSTIA, and Bren Jobe, who led the Corporate Communications team in developing the site with us.
"The main goal for the project was to update the overall front-end UI, featured content, and design styles to align better with the organization's current business goals and objectives (ie: Banners, CTAs for upcoming Events, Sponsors / Partners, etc.) By implementing and modifying the new admin modules, the NYSTIA staff is now able to manage the website content much more efficiently, freeing up time required for other important activities to help the organization grow and provide more value to its members and partners.
You will also notice some significant improvements to the site navigation based on current best practices and accessibility guidelines for enhancing the user experience. This process also included integration with MemberZone for displaying the active member directory within the new site template. The updated system opens more opportunities for additional features and functionality in the future -- stay tuned!"

New to the site, you'll discover:
Tourism Resources & Insights:
Our brand-new Resource Library serves as an archive of industry insights, expert tips, policy updates, best practices, and more affecting New York State's tourism industry! Gone are the days of scrolling through old news posts. Browse through categories of saved important content on advocacy, grants, sustainability and more, as well as 25+ topics including research, short-term rentals, and canals! Go to Resources
Events:
Our new Events Schedule features a list of upcoming events relevant to tourism and New York State’s tourism industry. On the left-hand side you’ll find NYSTIA’s events highlighted for easy reference, as well as the opportunity to browse event type, view in calendar mode, and whether an event is virtual or in-person. View the Events Schedule
Modernized & Responsive Home Page:
The new-and-improved NYSTIA landing page features a rotating banner of NYSTIA highlights, which you can turn off by clicking the ‘pause’ button in the top right-hand corner to your preference. It also features the top three news posts, a Tourism Resources & Insights section, an Upcoming Events portion, a scrolling Partnership feature, and an opportunity to sign up for NYSTIA e-news. The website’s responsive design allows you to toggle your browser’s ‘zoom in’ and ‘zoom out’ tools for a display that is perfect for your eyes and device.
Rotating Partnership Community:
Our partners make NYSTIA programming possible. We wanted to make sure our partners received an equal opportunity to display their logo on the new website, so we opted for a scrolling banner and a link to our “Partners and Solutions Providers” page.
Rotating NYS Photo Feature:
We will be rotating the background for the NYSTIA e-Newsletter signup with picturesque NYS destinations on a bi-weekly basis. To feature a photo (with credit) from your region, please contact Rachele at rachele@nystia.org for details on specs.
& More!
We welcome you to explore all areas of the new website and share your feedback at rachele@nystia.org. With every new launch there are bound to be some bumps in the road, so if you find anything needing attention, please let me know.
Happy exploring!
