Natasha Caputo, Director of Westchester County Tourism & Film, will speak on the America and the 250th panel on Friday morning as part of the 2023 NYS Tourism Conference held in Oswego, NY.
Natasha Caputo has decades of experience supporting tourism in New York. In her current role, as Director of Westchester County Tourism & Film, Caputo leads the promotion of Westchester in New York’s Hudson Valley as a viable business environment and leisure travel destination and is a driving force behind the county’s burgeoning film scene. Recently, Caputo has been appointed to the New York State Tourism Advisory Council by Governor Kathy Hochul.
Under Caputo’s leadership, tourism marketing efforts for Westchester County have been hailed by premier trade groups, most recently earning the PRNewsPlatinum Award for content marketing. This prestigious honor follows on the heels of other accolades for Westchester County Tourism & Film in the last year, including a Bronze Anvil from the Public Relations Society of America and a GoldAdrian Award from the Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association International.
Caputo served eight years running the strategic marketing and partnership operations of New York City’s tourism organization, NYC & Company, where she marketed the energy and excitement of New York City to both New Yorkers and visitors through special events, programming and strategic public and private partnerships. At NYC & Company she was responsible for leading marketing partnerships, sponsorships and the development of innovative ways to showcase New York City. She was also a consultant for brands like Madison Square Garden, Cirque du Soleil, and American Express.
The born-and-bred New Yorker, Caputo served as Deputy Director for NYC 100– the City’s Centennial Celebration; Director of Special Events and Media Relations at St. John’s University School of Law; and Senior Publicist at PBS’flagship station Thirteen/WNET in New York.
Caputo has produced several books including The New York Restaurant Cookbook, Cocktails in New York, Miffy Loves New York, The New York Pop-UpBook, and American Begins in New York and The Peopling of the New York City: A Teacher’s Resource Manual on Immigration.
Featured in City and State New York’s “Westchester Power List,” WestchesterMagazine’s “Top People to Know to do Business in Westchester,” and Westchester’s 914 Inc. magazine ”The It List: 50 Names You Need to Know.”
In 2005 Caputo was a recipient of two Adrian Awards from the Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association International (HSMAI) and in 2003 awarded one of Promo magazine’s Marketers of the Year.
Caputo is a Board Member of Hudson Valley Tourism, Inc. and Historic Hudson River Towns; Ex-Officio Board Member of Arts Westchester; and Past President of New York State Tourism Industry Association.
