July 25, 2023 - The Destination Marketing Corporation is thrilled to announce the appointment of Ryan West Geraghty as the new Marketing and Communications Director. This strategic appointment reflects our unwavering commitment to innovate, grow, and elevate the tourism experience for travelers and businesses in our region.
Geraghty is the former Managing Director of Paperkite – the digital marketing and creative agency located in Otsego County. While on the team, Ryan worked to identify and capitalize on traditional and emerging marketing trends, working with the team to provide the agency's extensive client list - including many in travel and tourism - with creative solutions to drive their marketing goals forward. She brings with her a passion for fostering collaborative partnerships and an innovative work environment and as a resident of Oneonta, Geraghty is thrilled to bring her love of Oneonta and passion for the arts to the DMC. She has extensive experience in the event industry producing hundreds of live events throughout the area and in the US along with a love of the arts, serving as the Executive Director of the Catskill Symphony Orchestra in Oneonta. Geraghty looks forward to presenting both Otsego and Schoharie Counties as a family-friendly and affordable vacation destination for lovers of the arts, food, craft beverages, baseball and much more.
In the new role, Ms. Geraghty will lead and oversee all of Cooperstown/Otsego County Tourism and Schoharie County marketing and communication efforts. She will be responsible for collaborating with business and community partners to develop innovative and robust marketing strategies, expanding our brand presence, encouraging visitor engagement, and ultimately, positioning both Otsego and Schoharie Counties as the top choice for travelers.
