Brooke Wilson is a student in her final semester at Paul Smith's College, where she studies Hospitality, Hotel, Resort and Tourism Management with a focus on sustainable tourism. Brooke joins the NYSTIA team as an Associate to tackle valuable research in sustainability, workforce development, higher education and marketing while she finishes her undergraduate degree.
Last year, Brooke was awarded the Staler Foundation's Scholarship of Excellence and has received a scholarship/temporary membership to AHLA (American Hotel and Lodging Association). In the 2021 fall semester, Brooke completed an internship at the Ritz Carlton Reynolds Lake Oconee in Georgia. She is a current member of the Distributive Education Clubs of America (DECA) club at Paul Smiths College.
From camping to hiking, Brooke enjoys being outdoors and immersed in nature. She likes all kinds of music and art and is currently working on improving her painting and sewing skills. Brooke also loves food, not only eating it but also cooking and baking. When she is not at college or spending time with her hobbies, she works at her family's local pub, The Raquette River Pub.
Brooke's first involvement with NYSTIA was attending the 2022 New York State Tourism Conference in White Plains as a student ambassador. Brooke learned an enormous amount about the tourism industry at the conference and was excited to make so many connections. She will graduate in December and is grateful to have the opportunity to make more connections through Paul Smith's College and NYSTIA.
