Lake George Area Prepares for 2023 FISU Winter World University Games

The 2023 Winter World University Games are coming to the Lake George Area for a once in a lifetime event. From January 12th to the 22nd, over twenty-five hundred international athletes from 50 countries come to participate in winter sports competitions all over the Adirondack
region. Gore Mountain will be hosting several events for the duration of the games and will remain open to the public for skiers to watch the athletes and ski the trails.

Volunteers Needed

Gore Mountain Open to Public during Games

During the Lake Placid 2023 FISU Winter World University Games, Gore Mountain is open! Training and competition will take place January 12-22 and the event window is January 2nd - 24th for setting up and dismantling the supporting infrastructure.

At Gore Mountain, lift ticket-holders can witness top athletes from around the world competing in games including Ski Cross, Big Air, and Slopestyle. Due to the high-profile nature of the Games, temporary changes to capacity, parking, trails, lifts, lodges, and activities can be expected
during these events.

For those who wish to be spectators without a lift ticket, tickets are available starting at $15 per event, and can be purchased online by visiting: lakeplacid2023.com.

PARKING - From Monday, January 9 – Sunday, January 22, the Premier Parking Lot will be closed to the public, including parking season passholders; paid parking will not be available for purchase. Shuttles will offer convenient access to the Base Lodge.

TRAILS - Wild Air, The Arena, and Pot Luck, will be open for competition only. Jibland will not be open during the World University Games. The Gore team is planning to build a temporary park on Upper Sleighride for public use during the Games.
