Building the Tourism Workforce: NYSTIA at the 2023 NYSSCA Conference in Albany

Last weekend, NYSTIA's Brooke Wilson was joined by three of our Higher Education Advisory Council members Brandi Guerinot (Niagara University), Ingrid O'Connell, (SUNY Schenectady), and Edwin Torres, (Rochester Institute of Technology) at the New York State School Counselor Association (NYSSCA) Conference in Albany. At this three-day event, Brooke spoke with New York State school guidance counselors on the vast career opportunities offered in the tourism and hospitality industry.

Brooke reported that many guidance counselors were amazed to discover the professional gateways offered in tourism and were thankful for the informative materials provided at the event. Kudos to our friends at Alon Tourism Solutions once again for developing the infographics and workforce development white paper we used at this event!
