Brendan Woodruff, Director of Sustainability at the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC), will speak on the State of New York’s climate and sustainability policies and programs, and moderate the sustainability panel at the 2024 NYS Tourism Conference, held in Niagara Falls, NY on April 17-19.

About Brendan:
Brendan currently serves as the Director of Sustainability at DEC where he focuses on lowering the environmental footprint of State government operations through providing resources and assistance to State agencies to meet their sustainability requirements, creating green purchasing policies, and engaging employees on how they can be part of the solution.
Prior to his current role, Brendan worked in DEC’s Pollution Prevention Unit where he provided businesses throughout the State with information and assistance on how they could become more sustainable.
In addition, Brendan has worked implementing workforce development policies and providing labor services to job seekers at the New York State Department of Labor.
Brendan is a graduate of Skidmore College with a degree in History and has a Master’s Degree in Policy Studies from the University of Edinburgh in Scotland.
