A Show of Firsts with NYSTIA's First Travel Show in Quebec

This past weekend the NYSTIA tourism booth was showcased at the Camping, Hunting & Fishing Show of Trois-Rivières in the Canadian province of Quebec. Trois-Rivieres is about 2 hours northeast of Montreal.

This three-day travel show was a show of firsts!

1. It was our first-ever event in the province of Quebec. The attendees were very interested in coming to New York State. 
2. It was our first event working with an interpreter - 95% of the attendees were French-speaking and we came prepared. I want to thank Sylvie Nelson with Adirondack Executive Services for providing interpreter services for the show.
3. On the last day, there was a winter storm and the venue had no power for the entire day. Our first event with no power! Despite this, the show went on without a hitch and was the best-attended day of the travel show. 

This event was the first of what we expect will be five travel events we will attend in Canada this year.
