Brooke Wilson - Stewardship Initiatives Coordinator
Brooke Wilson started her hospitality and tourism journey at her parents' small hospitality business on the Raquette River in Colton, NY. She did everything from line cook, bartending, serving, and event coordination.
Brooke pursued her formal education at Paul Smith's College, where she earned a B.S in Hotel, Resort & Tourism Management with a special interest in Sustainable Tourism. During that time she worked various jobs at hotels like the Ritz Carlton Reynolds, Lake Oconee in Georgia. In her final year at Paul Smith's she received an NYSTIA event scholarship to attend the 2022 New York State Tourism Conference in White Plains.
During Brooke's final semester at Paul Smith's College, she was selected to be the NYSTIA's inaugural Roger Dow Intern. Upon completion of her internship she was offered a full time role as the Stewardship Initiatives Coordinator at NYSTIA.
As Stewardship Initiatives Coordinator, Brooke's serves as staff liaison for the Sustainability Task Force, Higher Education Advisory Council, Work Force Development Task Force, Scholarship Committee, and the Partnership Community. She also supports other committees such as Membership, DEAI and Advocacy.
Brooke also serves as primary event coordinator for the New York State Tourism Excellence Summit, coordinates NYSTIA's online webinars, and directly supervises NYSTIA interns.
Brooke is continuing to grow in her leadership role, adding fiscal duties, coordinating Co-Op programs, and representing NYSTIA at select regional events and travel shows.
